Certify Completes Financing
Secures $1.9M for future growth
Portland, Maine – Certify, LLC, which provides employee expense management software to the SMB marketplace, today announced the closing of $1.9M in financing from strategic and individual investors. Certify delivers its SaaS solutions – including the unique Certify Wallet – directly to corporate users and individuals online at www.Certify.com and also through its Certify Partner Network. Certify was launched in early 2008 and funded for eighteen months by the founders, Bob and Alan Neveu, who previously founded applicant tracking software company, RecruiterNet, and sold it to First Advantage Corporation (NASDAQ:FAVD).
“ ‘Expense Management Made Easy’ is more than a tag line for us” said Bob Neveu, President of Certify. “Certify makes it easy for users to create their expense reports using their iPhone, Blackberry or other camera phone devices. Certify also allows our corporate clients to effectively manage expense policies and gain greater control over their corporate travel spend. Our real time, on-demand solution is available to any company with no implementation fee via a monthly service agreement, eliminating any up-front investment while also increasing the ROI proposition.”
Investors include FluffCo, controlled by payments entrepreneur, Irving Levin; Joe Proto, CEO of Transactis; Thomas Lehrman, CEO of Boliven and co-founder of Gerson Lehrman Group; John Bailey, CEO of Manheim Europe; Peter Lehrman, CEO of Cathedral Partners; angel investor and philanthropist, Esther Dyson; William Benedict, CEO of Alpine Meridian; and William Ryan, former CEO of TD BankNorth. John Bailey and William Benedict have joined Certify’s board of directors.
"Certify has streamlined the expense reporting process for us in a number of ways,” says Dan Bovarnick, Director of Finance at iCIMS, a mid-sized software development organization based in New Jersey. “Our users can now create and submit an expense report and begin the approval process in a matter of minutes – a process that used to take weeks to complete. The system is extremely easy-to-use and the number of ways our users can submit receipts into the system is simply amazing."
“As companies continue to look for productivity enhancements and as employees’ time becomes more valuable and expensive, improved expense management solutions play an important role in an integrated employee workflow process,” said Dave Kerr, President of Kerr Consulting, a VAR for Certify. “We are able to offer our accounting software clients an integrated expense management solution with Certify, increasing the demand for both products.”
