Learning, Laughter, and More: A Quick Recap of Our User Conference in Chicago

We were thrilled to have 120 attendees from over 70 companies join us in Chicago for our most recent Certify User Conference this May. Every year we host multiple events for current Certify clients and prospective customers to gain hands-on experience with Certify products and to learn the latest in travel and expense trends, tactics, and strategies for success.

Certify CEO and co-founder Bob Neveu kicked off the event with a discussion on the state of expense management today, and how Certify is continually adapting to create the best solutions for our clients. Neveu's presentation was well received by attendees and touched on a broad range of expense topics that impact how companies handle their employee spend.

Additionally, Bob Neveu was joined onstage by three customers for a roundtable discussion about their experience working with Certify. Terri Lyon from the Vollrath Company shared how they improved the expense management process for their 144-year-old company, proving companies with a long history can easily improve their expense reporting. Melissa VanFleet spoke about how they were able to improve their employee's receipt submission while saving time and money at the incredibly popular pet supply retailer Chewy, Inc. Kim Kapica of Holland LP relayed how after switching to Certify they revamped their entire expense management system – including how a team of two can process 300 reports in a single day.

We also had the pleasure of having Lillian Ranalli and Christopher Hopkins from Western Union Business Services, our Gold Sponsor, give a presentation on AML compliance and regulatory best practices. Ranalli and Hopkins made light of the complex and daunting regulatory requirements business undergo and provided ways for companies to protect themselves from the latest business scams. Attendees raved about how well Ranalli and Hopkins were able to make the session educational, and easy to apply at their company.

Lyft Business, our Silver Sponsor, was also on-site at the event to connect with business travelers and finance professionals. While they didn't host a discussion for this event, attendees were glad to have them available to answer questions and offer suggestions on how they can improve their company's ground transportation experience.

One thing we love most about hosting these events is being able to hear directly from customers about their experience with our team. We often hear stories about how our clients had struggled in the past to work with a different vendor, and how refreshing it is to find a trusted partner like Certify they can count on. Stories like these remind us that business isn't just business, it's personal, too.

Since we're always listening for ways to improve, we added a few new sessions where financial professionals and accountants could earn Continuing Professional Education credits. These five sessions offered attendees the opportunity to hone their skills through interactive lessons on topics like corporate travel best practices, administrator training, and next-level expense reporting.
